Rome's tobaggon run: having fun in Italy with the Funbob at Monte Livata

While Andorra might have the longest tobaggon run in the world, Italy can lay claim to having the shortest. In Lazio, at Monte Livata (about 73 km from Rome), the Alpine coaster installad is 520 metres long, covering 74 metres of altitude at a maximum speed of 36 km/hr.

Every weekend the tobaggon run is open for either an easygoing run, or a more adrenalin pumped downhill run. I have been tobaggoning in Italy before, usually at night with a sled down snowy hillsides and I hope that none of you have the accident I had last winter (let’s just say a black eye was the least of my worries).

The tobaggon run in Italy, in English called Funbob, is not an extreme sport, but a way to have some fun. It’s open from 10am to 2pm and 3pm to 7:30pm. Tickets are only 2.50 euros, which means a second run could be on the cards.
